Mikhail Vetrov, a deputy of the Saint Petersburg municipality of the village of Shushary, chairman of the Association of Manufacturers of Children's Goods, Works and Services, proposed on September 10 to ban the movement of scooters and other means of individual mobility near educational institutions, kindergartens, and polyclinics.

In his address, Vetrov noted that electric scooters continue to be one of the main threats on the roads and sidewalks of Russian cities.

"I ask you to consider the possibility of completely restricting the movement of scooters and equivalent means of individual mobility near schools, colleges, kindergartens, polyclinics and other children's institutions," follows from the text of the document, which is available to RT.

The MP also suggested evaluating the possibility of banning the creation of parking areas and rental of scooters in the area of these facilities.
