- A satellite event of the V Congress of Young Scientists will be held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
From September 16 to 18, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk will become the venue for the satellite event of the V Congress of Young Scientists.
Scientists from all over Russia will discuss solutions in the field of mining mineral resources on the Sakhalin Island shelf, ensuring energy security in remote settlements of the island region with the possibility of using hybrid technologies. Tools for sustainable reproduction of salmon numbers and deep processing of biological resources will be studied. The panelists will also discuss the experience of identifying, supporting and retaining talented young people in engineering education, including using IT technologies.
"The Sakhalin Region today is a testing ground for the introduction of advanced technologies. It was our region that became a platform for conducting a climate experiment and was the first in Russia to achieve carbon neutrality. We have created the country's first hydrogen test site. Sakhalin is a leading platform for the integration of civilian drones into the economy and social sphere. Our scientists are actively working on the creation of innovative technologies for the development of the Arctic shelf, increasing the efficiency of production in the fields, ensuring environmental safety and developing digital solutions for the fuel and energy complex. The region also makes a serious bet on the scientific and technological development of the resources of the World Ocean. Our achievements are the result of close cooperation between science, business and government," said Valery Limarenko, Governor of the Sakhalin Region.
Satellite events have been held annually within the framework of the Congress since 2022 in order to involve the Russian scientific community in solving the most important tasks of the regions. In 2025, satellite events will be held in the Krasnodar Territory, Tula and Sakhalin regions.
