US President Donald Trump has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is responsible for the attack on Qatar. He wrote about this on his social network Truth Social.

"It was Prime Minister Netanyahu's decision, not mine," Trump said.

The American leader stressed that bombing the territory of a sovereign state, which is a close ally of the United States, does not contribute to achieving the goals of both Israel and the United States. He also added that the destruction of Hamas is a "worthy goal."

A Hamas negotiating delegation that arrived in the Qatari capital of Doha to discuss a plan proposed by the United States for a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip was attacked on September 9. On the same day, White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt announced the American president's attempts to warn Qatar about the impending strikes, which were undertaken too late.

On the same day, the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Anthony Guterres, condemned the Israeli strikes on Qatar, calling them a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of this state. At the same time, the Prime Minister of the Arab state, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, said that Qatar reserves the right to respond to the Israeli strike on Doha.
