A meeting of the UN Security Council in connection with the Israeli strikes on Qatar will be held on September 10. This was reported by TASS with reference to a diplomatic source of the Republic of Korea's mission to the United Nations, which chairs the Security Council.

"The meeting on the agenda item "The situation in the Middle East" is scheduled for tomorrow (September 10. — Ed.) at 15:00 (22:00 Moscow time)," the agency's source said.

A TASS source noted that Algeria, Pakistan and Somalia had requested an emergency meeting of the Security Council.

Earlier, on September 9, it was reported that a Hamas negotiating delegation was attacked by Israel in the Qatari capital of Doha. The attack occurred as the negotiating team was discussing a U.S.-proposed cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. As a result of the attack, the head of the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, Khalil al-Haya, and three other members of the movement's leadership were killed.

On Monday, September 8, it was reported that two unidentified men opened fire at the Ramot Junction bus stop (on the outskirts of Jerusalem). A day later, the military wing of the radical Palestinian Hamas movement, the Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack in Jerusalem.
