From October 1, Russians will be able to request a six-month loan deferral.
Starting from October 1, entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), as well as those who work for themselves, will be able to receive a loan deferral for up to six months. The relevant decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on July 31 and posted on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"At any time during the term of the loan agreement, the borrower has the right to apply to the lender with a request for a grace period," the document says.
It is specified that the law will enter into force on October 1. Companies from all sectors of the economy will be able to take advantage of the loan holidays.
However, to receive this benefit, there are restrictions on the loan amount: up to 10 million rubles for the self-employed, up to 60 million rubles for microenterprises, up to 400 million rubles for small enterprises and up to 1 billion rubles for medium-sized enterprises.
On August 31, Artyom Sheikin, First Deputy head of the Federation Council Committee on State Construction, announced the entry into force of new measures regulating the activities of collectors. It was clarified that the changes will take effect on September 1, 2025 and will be aimed at strengthening the protection of citizens' rights and increasing transparency in debt collection.
