Britain will allocate $2.7 billion for armament to Ukraine
Through the International Fund for Support of Ukraine (IFU), the UK has allocated more than 2 billion pounds (more than $2.7 billion) for the purchase of weapons. This was announced on September 9 in a press release on the website of the Government of the United Kingdom.
"More than 2 billion pounds of military support has now been provided to Ukraine by an international fund led by the United Kingdom to support the most urgent needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the publication says.
The statement was published following the results of the 30th meeting of the contact group on arms supplies to Ukraine. Among the participants mentioned in the decision—making are NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Ukrainian Defense Minister Denis Shmygal and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
Boris Pistorius announced on September 9 that Germany would launch a new initiative to support long-range strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Russian Federation and finance the production of long-range drones (UAVs) in Kiev in the amount of € 300 million. He noted that the contracts involve the purchase of thousands of long-range UAVs of various types produced in Ukraine.
