The first Patriot air defense launch vehicles have been delivered to Ukraine. This was announced on September 9 by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius at a meeting of the contact group on Ukraine in London, the Tagesschau television news service reports.

"The first launch vehicles of two Patriot air defense systems, which Germany promised to Ukraine, were delivered," Pistorius said.

He also said that Germany would launch an initiative to strike deep into the Russian Federation and strengthen support for the purchase of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) by the Ukrainian industry.

"For this purpose, contracts worth €300 million should be signed with Ukrainian defense companies," the German defense minister said.

The head of the company, Armin Papperger, in an interview with ZDF TV channel on September 8, announced that the German company Rheinmetall had signed a contract to supply Ukraine with mobile UAV counteraction systems. According to him, the contract will be signed this week at the DSEI defense industry exhibition in London.
