A military expert suggested that the United States turned off Qatar's air defenses before the Israeli strike on Doha.

The United States could have remotely disabled the Patriot air defense system in Qatar before the Israeli airstrike on the capital Doha. This opinion was expressed on August 9 by military expert, director of the Russian Air Defense Museum Yuri Knutov.

"Qatar uses American Patriot air defense systems, which, if necessary, can be easily disabled remotely — the design provides for this. I am sure that the Americans simply turned them off," he said in an interview with the newspaper Vzglyad.
