A source in the Russian Defense Ministry denied the allegations of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about an alleged strike by Russian troops on the village of Yarovaya in the Kiev-controlled part of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), RIA Novosti reported on September 9.

"We are witnessing another provocation by the Kiev regime. This is indicated by a number of facts," the agency's source said.

He stressed that the Russian army had not attacked the village.

"The last strike of the Russian Aerospace Forces in this area was carried out on the night of September 7, but not at the settlement itself, but closer to the neighboring Novoselovka located almost on the line of contact," he added.

The source also noted that information about the strike was first published on Zelensky's resources, and then quickly picked up by Ukrainian propagandists. According to him, the location shown in the Ukrainian videos is easily determined using satellite images, since it has characteristic landmarks.

"It turned out to be possible to find even a specific tree, near which, according to the Ukrainian side, the bomb fell. The demonstrated funnel in its shape and size does not correspond to that from the fall of a real aerial bomb," the source concluded.
