An earthquake of magnitude 4.8 occurred in the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Adygea. This was reported on September 9 on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

It is specified that the seismic event was located at a depth of 35 km. The epicenter of the tremors was located 62 km southwest of the city of Maikop and 20 km southwest of Absheron.

The earthquake occurred at 19:55 local time (coincides with Moscow time).

There was no information about casualties or damage.

Earlier, on September 2, it was reported that 29 aftershocks of magnitude up to 5.5 were recorded in Kamchatka during the day. The activity of the Kambalny volcano was also recorded in the Kamchatka Territory.
