The Ministry of Education and Science named the parameters of the methodology for regulating paid admission to universities

The methodology for determining the maximum number of places for paid admission to universities will take into account the specifics of the educational institution, the personnel forecast and the priority of training areas, the Ministry of Education and Science told Izvestia. This methodology is currently being approved.

It is emphasized that the methodology and the entire package of by-laws regulating paid education should come into force on December 1 of this year, and the changes will affect the 2026/27 campaign. After that, the results will be analyzed and, if necessary, the rules will be adjusted.

"The regulation of paid admission is primarily aimed not at reducing the number of paid places, but at building a flexible system of industry priorities for admission to Russian universities. It is precisely about the adjustment, taking into account the experience of implementing regulatory documents on the regulation of paid admission," the ministry added.
