On September 9, an alley with busts of the fallen participants of the special military operation opened in the Square of Glory in the center of Lugansk.
The park was created with the support of the Popular Front and the Dobrynya Charitable Foundation. Ten busts of SVO heroes who fell in the defense of the LPR were installed on the alley.
The opening ceremony was attended by Leonid Pasechnik, head of the LPR, Evgeny Golman, President of the Dobrynya Charitable Foundation, and Andrei Sokolov, People's Artist of Russia and co-chairman of the Popular Front in the Moscow Region.
Elena, the widow of the hero of the SVR Vladimir Moskalenko, told Izvestia about the military path of her deceased husband.
"He volunteered in 2014 from the very first days. Then he joined the army, joined a mortar battery, and became a commander. He was a soul, he was for the guys, for the right cause. He's a hero," Elena shared.
Earlier in the day, in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the specialized school with advanced study of foreign languages No. 115 was named after Corporal Ivan Kokovin and Private Michael Gloss. Both soldiers died at Chasovoy Yar. Kokovin and Gloss were awarded the Order of Courage posthumously.
