The Nepalese army has deployed troops in coordination with other security agencies amid ongoing unrest in the country. This was reported on August 9 by the local newspaper Khabarhub.

"The Nepalese Army has deployed troops in conjunction with other security forces as large-scale looting, arson and vandalism continue to spiral out of control amid intensifying protests," the article says.

It is noted that some groups use the unrest to cause serious damage to both the civilian population and public property.

"The army called on all citizens to exercise restraint and cooperate in preventing further destruction across the country," the publication said.

On September 8, the Nepalese authorities imposed a ban on the activities of a number of large social networks that did not register with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on time. In this regard, mass protests began, and the number of victims of the riots increased to 500 people.

Nepal's Prime Minister Sharma Oli resigned on September 9 amid anti-government protests. Rioters also set fire to the central office of the ruling Nepali Congress Party.
