Israel informed the US authorities in advance about the upcoming strike on Doha
The US government was informed in advance about the planned Israeli attack on representatives of the radical Palestinian movement Hamas in Qatar and agreed to launch a strike. This was reported on September 9 by The Jerusalem Post.
"U.S. officials were aware of the attack on the Hamas leadership in Doha, Qatar, and gave the green light to the operation," the newspaper notes.
On this day, the press service of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that they had attacked the top leadership of the Hamas movement. The IDF stressed that measures had been taken before the strike to minimize damage to the civilian population. Thus, the strikes were carried out with precision weapons and additional intelligence data was used. It was clarified that the attack occurred when the negotiating group was discussing a proposal for a cease-fire in Gaza put forward by the United States.
Advisor to the Qatari Prime Minister, Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid bin Mohammed al-Ansari said on September 2 that Israel was not responding to the proposal to impose a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. On the same day, Israel mobilized about 40,000 reservists to prepare for a new offensive.
