The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus has strongly condemned the baseless decision of the Polish authorities to expel the Belarusian diplomat. The statement was published on September 9 on the agency's website.

"We believe that this is an element of a provocative policy coordinated with the Czech side against the Belarusian state in order to further escalate tensions both in interstate relations and in the region as a whole," the statement said.

According to the Foreign Ministry, such actions on the Polish side will not go unanswered. Belarus will announce a decision on this issue in the near future.

In addition, as a response to the closure of the border with Belarus for the period of the Zapad-2025 exercises, the Polish charge d'affaires was summoned to the country's Foreign Ministry. He received an oral protest.

On September 9, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the detention by the security services and the expulsion of a Belarusian diplomat from the country. He also said that starting from September 11, Poland will close the border with Belarus against the background of the Zapad-2025 Russian-Belarusian exercises.
