The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has attacked the top leadership of the Hamas movement. This was announced on August 9 by the IDF press service.

"For many years, these members of the Hamas leadership have led the operations of the terrorist organization, are directly responsible for the brutal massacre on October 7 [2023], and also organized and waged war against the state of Israel," the agency wrote on its Telegram channel.
