The court seized 247 million rubles worth of real estate from ex-investigator Kachur.

The Dorogomilovsky Court of Moscow granted the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation and seized the property of former investigator for particularly important cases Kirill Kachur (included in the register of foreign agents) and his relatives for state revenue. This was reported on September 9 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

According to the prosecutor's office, in addition to Kachur, his wife and four other people are involved in the case. Kachur is accused of creating an organized criminal group, stealing €3 million and extorting a $1.6 million bribe from businessmen. In 2022, the man was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list. An audit conducted by the prosecutor's office found a significant excess of the expenses of the defendant and his parents over their official incomes.

In addition, Kachur was involved in the case of Vyacheslav Simonenko, the former head of the IT company Merlion. In 2015, the co-owners of the company did not divide the business, as a result of which Simonenko was fired without severance pay. Left without a job and money, he turned to Kachur, who, in turn, brought former colleagues to the case. According to investigators, they developed a detailed plan according to which the entire management of the company had to go to prison.

Earlier in the day, the court recovered over 1 billion rubles from the former head of Nizhny Novgorod Oleg Sorokin. It was clarified that in the period from October 2010 to October 2015, Sorokin, being the head of the city, was engaged in commercial activities, despite the requirements of anti-corruption legislation. He was interested in the activities of a real estate developer owned by his wife, Elada Nagornaya, and used his official powers to create favorable conditions for the company in order to make a profit.
