Sobyanin announced the opening of the Akademika Koroleva Bridge

In the capital on Tuesday, September 9, traffic was opened on the new bridge of Academician Korolev, said Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

The bridge connected the Coastal Passage in the Filevskaya floodplain with Shelepikhinskaya embankment and Shelepikhinsky highway. As a result, there was an additional exit from the Filevsky Park area to the TTK and Zvenigorodskoye highway.

"Trips have become more comfortable for about 500,000 residents of Filevsky Park, Khoroshevo-Mnevniki, Khoroshevsky and Presnensky districts," Sobyanin wrote on the MAX messenger.

Andrey Korolev, the grandson of the famous designer, took part in the opening ceremony of the bridge.

According to Sobyanin, the implementation of this project will reduce the load on the western sector of the TTK, Kutuzovsky Prospekt and Shelepikhinsky Bridge. The Akademika Koroleva Bridge, as well as other road network facilities still under construction, "will reliably connect the area where the National Space Center and new residential areas are being built with the rest of the city."
