820 parrots from Kyrgyzstan were brought to Krasnoyarsk

Krasnoyarsk imported 820 parrots from Kyrgyzstan. The party of birds included budgies, corellas, collared parrots and lovebirds, the press service of the regional Rosselkhoznadzor reports.

The birds were delivered from the village of Kashkar-Kyshtak for an individual entrepreneur who is engaged in their breeding. Veterinary control was carried out by specialists of the department.

Now the parrots are in a special room. They will receive diagnostics and preventive measures.

According to the KrasnoyarskMedia news agency, in total, 9176 ornamental birds (12 batches) were brought to the regional capital from Kyrgyzstan in 2025.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote about the smuggling of rare animals in Russia. Exotic animals, birds and reptiles in certain circles have long turned into status luxury items. The demand for them in the shadow market is only growing along with the price.
