The remote electronic voting system (DEG) is fully prepared for the elections, which was confirmed by the successful holding of the All-Russian training on September 3-4. This was announced on August 9 by the Chairman of the Territorial Election Commission (TEC). Oleg Artamonov, DEG, during an interregional meeting with public headquarters on the readiness of the monitoring infrastructure for a single voting day, which was held at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.
"Based on the results of the training, we can already say that the system is ready for the elections, we did not have any comments on its work. The test vote was successful, the surveillance tools worked successfully, and the summing up was also successful," TASS quoted him as saying.
He also added that about 10% of the voters took part in the training, and the same systems were used as in the main elections.
On a single voting day on September 14, 20 governors, deputies of legislative assemblies of 11 subjects and deputies of city assemblies at the municipal level in 25 regions will be elected.
On August 20, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, announced that almost 870,000 voters had applied to participate in the DEG, which will be held in September in 24 regions of the country. In addition, according to the head of the CEC, more than 76.5 thousand people applied to participate in voting through the Mobile Voter platform. It allows Russian citizens to vote at their place of residence, away from home and their polling station.
