In August of this year, average prices for popular used cars in Russia decreased by 5.9% compared to the end of last summer. At the same time, individual brands and models show a more significant reduction in cost, Avito Auto experts told Izvestia on September 9.

The most significant decrease in prices is observed for Renault cars, which fell by 14.9%. The cost of Hyundai (-12.2%), Kia (-9.1%), Ford (-9%) and Skoda (-8.6%) cars has also changed, experts estimate.

Among the popular models, the Toyota Camry fell in price, with its price decreasing by 12.8%. Renault Logan became more affordable — by 11.1%, Kia Sportage — by 10.9%, Volkswagen Polo — by 10.5%, and Hyundai Solaris — by 10.1%.

Since the beginning of 2025, prices for used cars have decreased by 3.6%. Renault (-7.7%), Chevrolet (-6.5%), Ford (-6.2%), Nissan (-5.6%) and Kia (-4%) became cheaper during this time. The price of individual models also decreased: Renault Logan (-10.9%), Mitsubishi Lancer (-9.1%), Chevrolet Niva (-7.5%), Toyota Camry (-7.3%) and Ford Focus (-7.3%).

"The dynamics of the average price depends not only on changes in the cost of a particular car model, but also on changes in the market structure. The more available versions of a particular model or budget cars of a particular brand are on sale, the lower their average price," the experts explained.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that in August 2025, compared to the same period last year, the number of ads for the sale of used Chinese cars in Russia doubled, while the number of ads for all brand groups increased by 50%.

On August 28, it became known that the leader of the rating of the most popular crossovers in the Russian secondary market for the first seven months of 2025 is the Toyota RAV4, excluding the VAZ Niv in the SUV segment.
