Lavrov called the events in BiH the result of gross interference by the West.
The events in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) are evidence of the West's gross interference in internal affairs. This was announced on September 9 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a meeting with President of Republika Srpska (RS, BiH entity) Milorad Dodik.
He called the meeting very timely in terms of understanding the complex processes that are unfolding in BiH and affecting the Serbian Republic.
"All this is the result of the West's gross interference in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in direct violation of the Dayton Accords and the principles they enshrine, including the principle of equality of the three constituent nations and two entities," Lavrov said.
The Minister drew attention to the fact that the current "so-called high Representative" of the United Nations in BiH, Christian Schmidt, was appointed to the post by illegal methods. According to Lavrov, he is trying to carry out "usurping functions" on the orders of representatives of Western countries.
Earlier, on September 8, the Russian Foreign Ministry condemned Western attempts to remove Dodik from the political scene by unholy methods. It was noted that the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH to revoke the presidential mandate carries a "significant destabilizing potential."
Prior to that, on February 26, the BiH court sentenced Dodik in absentia to a year in prison in the case of non-compliance with Schmidt's decisions. He was banned from political activity for six years. The CEC of BiH has scheduled early presidential elections for Republika Srpska on November 23.
