- Lavrov pointed to the solidarity of other countries with the Russian Federation in the fight against the glorification of Nazism.
The overwhelming majority of the members of the world community stand in solidarity with Russia in the fight against the glorification of Nazism. This was announced on September 9 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in his greeting to the participants of the International Anti-Fascist Forum.
According to him, at the moment, immunity to the Nazi virus has weakened in a number of Western countries. He suggested that the West had forgotten how hard the world had been and what the belief in one's own exclusivity, chauvinism, Russophobia and anti-Semitism could lead to.
The Minister called it a sacred duty to continue to protect the historical truth and take steps to curb Nazi tendencies.
"I am glad that the overwhelming majority of the members of the international community stand in solidarity with us. The results of the vote on the annual Russian draft resolution of the UN General Assembly on combating the glorification of Nazism are eloquent evidence of this. I am convinced that your meeting will also contribute to the common efforts to combat misogynistic ideology," follows from Lavrov's greeting, voiced by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, at the forum.
Earlier, on June 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin pointed out the need to firmly defend the truth related to the decisive role of Russian citizens in defeating Nazism. He also stressed the need to continue systematic work related to historical education and the fight against the distortion of historical facts.
