Skoda has unveiled a new Vision O concept car at the Munich Motor Show, which demonstrates the brand's car design direction. Details about the model were shared by the brand's press service. Despite the worldwide popularity of crossovers, the concept is made in the form factor of a station wagon, and its name refers to the brand's bestseller, the Octavia.

The special features of the Skoda Vision O are swing doors (similar to those used in the Russian serial electric car Atom), a body-colored central pillar and 3D-printed headrests. The length of the show car is 4850 mm, which is almost 15 cm longer than the Octavia of the current generation.

A 1.2 m wide display is installed on the front panel at the base of the windshield (a similar solution is used for the new BMW iX3), which replaces the usual dashboard. There is a refrigerator built into the central armrest, a portable Bluetooth speaker, and niches for umbrellas. The trunk volume is 650 liters.

The Skoda Vision O concept is conceived as a pure electric vehicle. It is assumed that the market debut of the electric Octavia is expected only at the beginning of the next decade. However, it is possible that the solutions from the concept car will be transferred to the new-generation Octavia, which is expected to debut in 2026.

The day before, it was reported that Mercedes-Benz presented a new GLC crossover with EQ Technology at the Munich Motor Show, and the brand's press service shared details about the model. The SUV will replace the poorly selling EQC and become a competitor to the BMW iX3 — both electric models will go on sale in 2026.
