Russian and American companies have a mutual interest in cooperation. This was announced on September 9 by the Minister of Finance of the Russian Federation Anton Siluanov.

"We know that American companies are interested in investing in Russia. The Russian side is also interested in cooperation with American business," he said in an interview with RBC radio.

The minister stressed that initially it is necessary to take political steps to regulate the tensions that have arisen in Russian-American relations in recent years. According to him, the improvement of the political climate will contribute to development and economic cooperation.

Siluanov also shared that geopolitics was the main topic of negotiations between Russia and the United States in Alaska. He clarified that Moscow and Washington are interested in cooperation, including in the economic sphere.

Earlier, on September 8, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced Moscow's readiness to resume dialogue with the West if they show a desire. At the same time, he stressed the impossibility of doing business in the same format.

On the same day, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov announced the intention of the Prosecutor General's Office to monitor the observance of the rights of Russian businesses when returning foreign companies. He also noted that the agency does not have the authority to determine the conditions for the return of Western companies and the procedures for their return.
