Russian military personnel broke through the defenses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to the southeast of Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name - Pokrovsk) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on September 9 by Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the head of the region.

"At Chunyshin, our assault units broke through the enemy's defenses and expanded the control zone," he said in an interview with TASS.

According to him, the Ukrainian militants are suffering heavy losses in this area.

Earlier, on September 1, Kimakovsky reported that fighters of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had cut up a Ukrainian group in the area of the settlement of Shandrigolovo in the Krasnolimansk direction.
