The photographer of the Spartak football club has died

Alexander Stupnikov, photographer of Spartak football club, died at the age of 40. This was announced on September 8 by the club's press service.

"Spartak photographer Alexander Stupnikov passed away today. Sasha died suddenly at home, at the age of 41. He was going to work — for the next match of our team, to which he gave more than 15 years of professional activity," the football club's Telegram channel says.

The publication stressed that this was a shock to everyone who works at the club. Spartak also expressed support for Stupnikov's family and friends.

"We will always remember our Sasha as a wonderful person, a unique professional, a reliable friend and comrade. His pictures will forever remain a part of the history of Spartak. Alexander Stupnikov's name will forever remain in the history of the club," the statement says.

Today's match with ML Vitebsk began with a minute of silence in memory of Stupnikov.
