An art exhibition of North Korean art has opened in Moscow.

The exhibition "The Art Exhibition of the DPRK. The Country of the Great People" opened on September 8 at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts in Moscow. The first guests of the exhibition included the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, as well as the Ministers of Culture of Russia and the DPRK, Olga Lyubimova and Son Jong Gyu.

"For many years, Russia and the DPRK have been working together to build cultural sovereignty, preserve historical and cultural heritage, and protect spiritual values. <...> I'm sure she (the exhibition. It will give you unforgettable impressions and become a vivid symbol of strengthening friendly relations between our countries," Lyubimova said at the opening of the exhibition.

The exhibition features 123 works, including national paintings of the DPRK, prints, ceramics, mosaics and embroidery, which had not previously been shown in Russia. The authors of the exhibition highlight five-meter canvases reflecting the national traditions, philosophy and art of the country.

The DPRK art exhibition at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts will last until October 10, 2025.

Earlier, on September 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin called the relations between Russia and the DPRK time-tested. He recalled that 77 years ago Moscow was the first to recognize the new state. At the same time, the Russian leader emphasized the heroic participation of the DPRK army in the liberation of the Kursk region. According to him, it has become a vivid symbol of friendship and mutual assistance between the two countries.
