Traffic on the bridge over the river was closed in Chita due to flooding

In Chita (Trans-Baikal Territory), traffic was blocked on the bridge over the river of the same name. The reason was an increase in the water level, according to the city administration.

"Due to the continued rise in the water level in the Chita River, traffic on the bridge on Komsomolskaya Street in the Pozharki area will be closed from 01:00 on September 9," the report says.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency, due to the closure of the crossing, the routes of some trolleybuses and buses will change. Trolleybuses No. 2 and 3 will now run through the central market. Buses № 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 14, 19, 21, 23, 24, 25t, 27, 40, 47, 49, 51, 58, 61 and 77 — through the Fortuna shopping center.

On the evening of September 8, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reported a continued increase in the water level in the river. As of 21:00 local time, it had already reached 342 m. At the same time, a decrease in water was recorded on the rivers Burgen and Shishkino. Since September 7, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Trans-Baikal Territory has been on high alert.
