At the online summit, the leaders of the BRICS countries stressed the need to strengthen unity and discuss issues related to the Ukrainian crisis. This was reported on September 8 by China Central Television (CCTV).

"The leaders who participated in the meeting stated that <...> the BRICS countries should strengthen solidarity and cooperation, work together to overcome crisis challenges, <...> support a free and open international trading system and protect the common interests of the Global South," the article says.

In addition, the TV channel stressed that the parties agreed to continue to maintain contacts on issues related to the Ukrainian crisis and the conflict in Gaza.

Earlier on September 8, Chinese President Xi Jinping said during the unification summit in a video conference format that as the proximity of cooperation increases, the BRICS member countries will begin to respond to external risks and challenges more confidently. According to him, the member states of the association must also defend international justice. Xi Jinping noted that BRICS will withstand the test of international turbulence and will continue to develop steadily in the long term.

Arturo Ayala, Secretary of International Relations of the Red Motherland Communist Party of Peru, called the holding of the summit of the leaders of the BRICS member countries a trend towards multipolarity on September 6. He stressed that cooperation within the framework of the association should be aimed at further strengthening common markets.
