A bill has been submitted to the State Duma (DG) on the introduction of a "fair check", in which if the price at the checkout is higher than on the price tag, the goods are issued free of charge.

"The bill proposes to introduce the principle of "fair check" as a norm for consumer protection. If the value of the goods punched at the checkout exceeds the price indicated on its price tag, the buyer receives this product for free," the explanatory note to the bill says.
