- The ex-head of Vakkor was sentenced to four years for embezzlement during the state defense order.
Alexander Bozhok, the former CEO of Vakkor LLC, was sentenced to four years in prison for embezzlement of funds in excess of 123 million rubles allocated to the company for the implementation of a state defense order. This was announced on September 8 by the press service of the Main Military Investigation Directorate (GVSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in the Telegram channel.
According to the verdict, Bozhok will serve his sentence in a correctional colony of the general regime. The court also banned him from engaging in activities related to the implementation of managerial and organizational-administrative functions in organizations of any form of ownership for a period of one year.
The investigation revealed that in 2020, the state customer and Vakkor LLC signed a multimillion-dollar contract for construction work on Sakhalin. In 2022, Alexander Bozhok, responsible for monitoring the execution of the contract, squandered more than 123 million rubles allocated for the implementation of the contract.
The court found the evidence provided by the military investigative authorities sufficient to convict the ex-director. Bozhok is charged under Part 2 of Article 201.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the terms of a state contract for a state defense order or the terms of an agreement concluded for the purpose of fulfilling a state defense order").
Earlier, on December 17, 2024, it was reported that the CEO of Vakkor LLC was accused of abuse of authority in the execution of a state defense order, the total damage amounted to more than 88 million rubles. It is noted that the funds allocated were not implemented for the construction of facilities, which caused multimillion-dollar damage to the state.
