Rogozin's mother asked to forgive her daughter after being accused of terrorism
The mother of Evgenia Rogozina (listed as an extremist and terrorist by Rosfinmonitoring), who is accused of making a terrorist threat for a comment, wrote a letter to the Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut and told about her daughter's beatings in prison. She reported this to Izvestia on September 8.
According to the mother, who provided a copy of the sent letter, her daughter is being bullied by her cellmates, who beat the woman.
"We also wrote to Oksana Lut by e-mail. My daughter is already exhausted there, we are all exhausted already. She doesn't have any health anymore," she said.
The woman noted that two linguistic examinations were conducted in favor of her daughter. In the sent letter, the mother asks to forgive her daughter. According to her, the woman is raising two minor children.
"Please forgive us, as an Orthodox believer. And please don't hold a grudge against her. She is very remorseful for her ridiculous, meaningless, fabulous phrase, which she uses in a place of profanity when she disagrees with something (at the moment, with an increase in the price of butter). Our whole family asks for your forgiveness and understanding for such a misunderstanding, we are a friendly, friendly and peaceful family," the message says.
In November 2024, Rogozin commented on a post in which the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut, explained the record increase in butter prices by increasing the income level of Russians, with the words "burn the witch." In February of this year, she was charged under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activities using the Internet").
Later, on July 21, 2025, Evgenia's husband Artur Dovgal shared with Izvestia that her comment did not contain a threat. According to her, Rogozin expressed indignation about the general situation with food prices in stores. On August 25, Rogozin explained her words with indignation at the increase in food prices.
On September 8, Rogozin wrote a letter to Lut asking for forgiveness. The woman handed it over through the Commissioner for Human Rights, Tatiana Merzlyakova, and later the letter was handed over to Lut by the head of the Presidential Human Rights Council, Valery Fadeev. Rogozin expressed regret and asked for forgiveness for the careless statement she made. The woman explained that her words were written on emotions in response to the minister's statement about rising butter prices.
