A resident of Udmurtia apologized to Oksana Lut after being accused of terrorism
Evgenia Rogozin, a resident of Udmurtia (listed as an extremist and terrorist by Rosfinmonitoring), who is accused of making a terrorist threat for a comment, wrote a letter asking for forgiveness. The woman handed it over through the Commissioner for Human Rights, Tatiana Merzlyakova, and later the letter was forwarded to the Minister of Agriculture, Oksana Lut, by the head of the Presidential Human Rights Council, Valery Fadeev.
In her letter, Rogozin expressed regret and asked for forgiveness for the careless statement she made. The woman explained that her words were written on emotions in response to the minister's statement about rising butter prices.
"I want to sincerely apologize to the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Oksana Lut for my careless, thoughtless, childish statement written on a social network. <...> The post was dedicated to the rise in the price of butter. For four months now, my location has been SIZO-5 in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk region. Every day since February 12, when I was taken away and a criminal case was opened, I cry and sob bitterly, I constantly live in fear and stress, I experience daily worries, torments and anxiety for myself and my children," Rogozin wrote.
She added that her daughter Ksenia was forced to drop out of the Olympic reserve school, and the family is experiencing difficult emotional experiences. The woman also stressed that she is an Orthodox believer and asked to understand her actions and forgive her for what she had done.
In November 2024, Rogozin commented on a post in which the head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Oksana Lut, explained the record increase in butter prices by increasing the income level of Russians, with the words "burn the witch." In February of this year, she was charged under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activities using the Internet").
Later, on July 21, 2025, Evgenia's husband Artur Dovgal shared with Izvestia that her comment did not contain a threat. According to her, Rogozin expressed indignation about the general situation with food prices in stores. On August 25, Rogozin explained her words with indignation at the increase in food prices.
