The Government of the Russian Federation has approved a comprehensive plan for the development of transport, energy, telecommunications, social and other infrastructure (KPRI) for the period up to 2036. This was reported on the government's website on September 8.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin held an operational meeting with the deputy prime ministers, where he spoke about the comprehensive infrastructure development plan for the period up to 2036, as well as the concept for the development of the gas engine fuel market until 2035.

"In order to set up synchronous development of the territories, the government has approved a large-scale comprehensive infrastructure plan for the period up to 2036. Within its framework, it is necessary to build and reconstruct about 4.5 thousand km of railways, over 2 thousand km of highways, more than 800 km of ultra-high voltage power transmission lines, and lay almost 20 thousand km of fiber—optic communication lines," Mishustin said.

In addition, 40 research centers and medical organizations will be renovated as part of the infrastructure development plan. It is planned to build university campuses and airport complexes, as well as launch power units at five nuclear power plants.

"In fact, this is a roadmap of what Russia will look like in 10 years. The government has identified the types of facilities that require federal planning in the fields of transport, energy, healthcare, education, and communications. In each region, we have identified what the locals lack the most," Deputy Minister of Economic Development Svyatoslav Sorokin told Izvestia.

Also at the meeting with the Deputy prime ministers, Mishustin announced the approval of the concept for the development of the gas engine fuel market until 2035.

"It is aimed at increasing the number of vehicles that use this type of fuel. And to create a modern refueling and service infrastructure," Mishustin said.

According to him, eight segments will be developed: automobile, marine, railway and inland waterway transport, agricultural, municipal and road construction machinery, as well as special equipment necessary for carrying out work in quarries and mining operations.

Earlier, on September 2, Mishustin instructed to keep the situation in the construction sector under control. He noted that the demand for housing in Russia is decreasing. The Government has developed a set of measures to remedy the situation.
