- An exhibition of works by a photojournalist from Izvestia Photo Center will open in Orel
On September 11, the Orel Museum of Local Lore will open an exhibition of works by Pavel Volkov, a photojournalist at Izvestia International Exhibition Center. The exhibition will focus on the daily lives of people from different parts of Russia, as well as unique and little-known places. The exhibition will feature four photo essays taken in Kamchatka, in the Vorkuta Ring, in Yakutia and in the outback of the Kirov region. The main theme of the photo gallery is the life of ordinary people in these regions, their way of life and everyday life, so the center of each frame is a local resident.
The Izvestia photojournalist will present the following series of works: "Kamchatka. On the Black Sand", "The Road to Karinthorf", "The Color of Cold" and "Forgotten in the Arctic". The exhibition will not only tell about the vast geography of Russia, but also open up places to the audience that many still do not know about.
Also on the opening day of the exhibition, there will be a creative meeting with Pavel Volkov, where the author will conduct a master class for invited students.
Pavel Volkov is a photojournalist at Izvestia International News Center, a lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism at Moscow State University and the Moscow Institute of Culture (MGIK), a laureate of the Golden Pen of Russia Award in 2022, a member of the Russian Geographical Society, and a prize—winner at National and international photojournalism competitions.
