French 16-year-old cyclist Noah Sartis died of cardiac arrest during a race in Coursemont in northwestern France. This was reported on September 7 by the French newspaper Le Parisien.

According to one of the organizers of the event, Joel Bellanger, Sartis suffered a heart attack in the last kilometers of the race. Despite the efforts of the doctors, the young man died.

Competitions for adult athletes scheduled for the afternoon were canceled. The circumstances of the cyclist's death are being investigated.

On September 3, it became known that goalkeeper Antonio Edson dos Santos Souza died in Brazil shortly after taking a penalty kick at a futsal match. The tragedy occurred while playing in an amateur tournament in the municipality of Augusto Correa in the northeastern state of Para. The goalkeeper jumped into the right corner and deflected the shot, but when he was walking towards his teammates, he fell. The athlete was urgently hospitalized, but it was not possible to save him.
