The Rosselkhoznadzor introduced a quarantine phytosanitary regime and imposed quarantine within the boundaries of land plots in the Shchekinsky district of the Tula region. A dangerous weed was found there.

The decision was made based on the results of an on-site survey of the sites. The total area of the quarantine lands is 1,228.14 hectares, TSN24 writes. In the near future, specialists will carry out measures aimed at combating the habit. Experts need to prevent the spread of this plant beyond the quarantine zone.

Earlier, on September 1, it was reported that the Rosselkhoznadzor had imposed quarantine in the Plavsky district of the Tula region. This was also due to the discovery of the midwife. The area of the hearth was more than 53 hectares.

Midge refers to parasitic weeds. It has no roots or leaves, and the stems are embedded in the host plant to feed on its juices. The weed disrupts the metabolism of plants, weakens them and delays growth. When feeding to animals, the midwife can cause diseases.
