A court in the LPR sentenced a member of the National Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to 16 years in prison

The Southern District Military Court has sentenced a member of one of the Ukrainian nationalist battalions, who is involved in committing war crimes against residents of Donbass, to 16 years in prison. This was announced on September 8 by the press service of the Directorate of the Federal Security Service (UFSB) of Russia for the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR).

"The Southern District Military Court has found guilty a member of one of the Ukrainian nationalist battalions of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Participation in a terrorist community)," the agency's message reports TASS.

According to the agency, in 2014, a native of the Republic of Crimea joined the armed formation, which was involved in the commission of war crimes on the territory of Donbass.

It is specified that the defendant was sentenced to 16 years in prison to serve his sentence in a high-security penal colony. The verdict has entered into legal force.

On September 4, a military court sentenced two Ukrainian Armed Forces commanders Yevhen Bulatsik and Rostislav Karpusha to life imprisonment in absentia in the case of a missile attack in the Kursk region that killed at least 17 people. It was clarified that they were found guilty of committing a terrorist act under paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act").
