The Moscow City Hall has no task to make all parking paid. This was stated by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital for transport.

"First of all, we are looking at where there are many violations and where local residents do not have enough parking spaces. We are consulting with local deputies so that these decisions are made as carefully as possible," Komsomolskaya Pravda quoted Liksutov as saying on September 8.

He noted that the introduction of paid parking solves many problems for local residents, who are deprived of free places because of others who come to the area for a while. Residents will be able to get a parking permit for 3 thousand rubles a year and freely park their car near their home.

After the introduction of paid parking, local residents leave cars there 40-60% more and more often, depending on the area, Liksutov said.

Earlier, on August 26, it was reported that the State Duma proposed banning the installation of paid parking in Moscow near schools, kindergartens, medical institutions and other social facilities. The author of the idea noted that such a ban helps to increase the availability of services for Muscovites and will have a positive impact on their lives.

On August 22, it became known that the State Duma had prepared a bill according to which the fine would be increased for the illegal installation of the sign "Disabled", and for repeated violations, the deprivation of a driver's license is expected.
