Indonesia has recorded the eruption of Mount Merapi on the island of Sumatra in the province of West Sumatra. This was announced on September 8 by the Center for Volcanology and Mitigation of Geological Disasters of Indonesia on its website.

It is specified that the eruption occurred at an altitude of 2968 m. According to CNN Indonesia, during the volcanic eruption, a column of ash rose to a height of 1.2 km above the top of the mountain.

In addition, the volcanic eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of more than 30 mm, it lasted about 54 seconds. Currently, the danger level remains on Mount Merapi. Locals and tourists were forbidden to approach the epicenter of the volcano's activity, which is the Verbik crater, within a radius of 3 km.

On September 3, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the Kilauea volcano in the US state of Hawaii had become active again, with a powerful eruption. It is specified that the height of the lava fountains reached 150 m.
