Krasnodar, Moscow and Rostov regions recorded the highest number of deaths in road accidents in 2024. This was announced on September 8 by the Russian Interior Ministry.

789 fatal accidents were recorded in the Krasnodar Territory, 649 and 346 deaths in Moscow and the Moscow Region, respectively, and 500 people in the Rostov Region, RIA Novosti quoted the agency as saying.

In addition, last year, more than 3.3 thousand people died in road accidents in the Central Federal District, 2.9 thousand in the Volga region, more than 1.1 thousand died in the Urals and about 1 thousand people in the Northwestern Federal District and the North Caucasus Federal District.
