- The Russian Federation has developed a system of barriers against unmanned Aurelia boats
Russia has created the Aurelia modular special barrier system, which is designed to protect against unmanned boats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on September 7 by the official representative of the Rusich development organization (St. Petersburg).
"When an unmanned boat or just a boat with water cannons or a submersible engine passes through the Aurelia modular special barriers system, it sucks in the active elements and makes the engine unusable, the screws twist. The product was tested in the Gulf of Finland with the participation of representatives of the Russian Navy," TASS quoted him as saying.
It is specified that the defensive system consists of several modules. Each of them is 10 m long and 3 m wide. Such a module includes a floating support, a connecting network, anti-water jet elements, as well as a submersible anchor.
The new development will be installed in the area of strategic facilities on the water. This will create a protective zone in case of attack by surface boats, both unmanned and manned.
On September 5, Izvestia reported that the world's first Makarov training tank had been developed for the Navy. The new marine drone will help train operators. It is specially designed for the convenience of students. The device is equipped with a control system (radio and Wi-Fi) and has simplified controls. It is powered by two electric motors.
