Ammunition train derails in Sweden
In Sweden, two freight trains, one of which was loaded with ammunition, derailed during a downpour that hit the northern regions of Westernorrland. This was reported on September 7 by the Swedish newspaper Göteborgs-Posten.
"All passenger trains will be disrupted for several weeks," Peter Jonsson, a spokesman for the Swedish Transport Authority, told the newspaper.
He added that the Swedish Transport Authority will clear the site to carry out a more detailed damage assessment and restoration work.
Earlier, on September 5, a private plane with two pilots crashed into Lake Elmaren near the town of Norrtje in eastern Sweden. Divers and special equipment, including a helicopter, were involved in the rescue operation. Police have launched an investigation to find out the circumstances of the crash.
