In Germany, amid measures to prepare for a potential military conflict, they called for including more ready-to-eat dishes in national stocks. The Washington Post (WP) writes about this on September 7.

"The plan is to create a national reserve of ready—made products that can be consumed immediately after reheating, such as canned ravioli and lentils," the newspaper quoted German Minister of Agriculture and Food Alois Rainer as saying.

According to him, in addition to the supply of military equipment, food security also plays an important role. Rainer stressed that these supplies are needed not only in case of conflict, but also for other crisis situations. He cited natural disasters or an accident at a power plant as an example.

On the same day, Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev said that Germany's possible supplies of long-range Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine would mean a "new quality" of Russian-German relations. According to him, only the German military will be able to control the weapons systems, which "will be a completely different approach."
