Moldova is not ready for the winter heating season due to the extremely high cost of gas. This was announced on September 7 by the leader of the opposition bloc "Victory" Ilan Shor.

"Prices have increased 5-7 times in recent years. This is the price of friendship with Europe, which citizens pay out of their own pockets. In fact, citizens pay out of their own pockets for the whim of the current regime," the politician said in an interview with TASS.

At the same time, Shor believes that the upcoming parliamentary elections can solve the energy problem in the country.

On August 27, Shor accused the President of the Republic, Maya Sandu, of betraying the interests of the country. According to him, Sandu and the ruling Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) have handed Moldova over to "foreign bureaucrats from Brussels." He added that they had exchanged the republic for promises and loans and turned it "into a servant of the European Union's non-politicians."

The leader of the pro-European Liberal Democratic Party, Vladimir Filat, said on August 11 that the political regime of the President of Moldova and its ruling PAS party had plunged the republic into poverty.
