A Siberian resident told about a bear attack on Lake Baikal
In the North Baikal region, a man was attacked by a bear, but he managed to escape by walking alone about 5 km to a place of help. Alexander Gornakov, the victim himself, told Izvestia about this on September 7.
According to the man, in early September he went on vacation to Lake Baikal to visit the famous tourist bay of Ayaya, where the road led through a wooded area. So, after a few hours of walking to the bay, the Siberian met a wild animal.
"At first I heard a roar, a roar, I turned around to see what was the matter, and in a short time it flashed through my head: "Oh, a bear!". At this moment, this dark thing is rushing at me. <… > There was 15 m between me and this roar, but the bear didn't even give me a chance to come to my senses or do any things - immediately on all fours he rushed in my direction," recalls Gornakov.
Alexander added that the animal immediately knocked the man to the ground and left a wound on his shoulder and head. After that, he began to scream and fight off the predator in order to throw him off. And then, when it was done, the man ran towards the river and hid on the rocks.
Also, for about three hours, the victim walked to the settlement through an open area with lacerations, after which he was picked up by the staff of the tourist base on a boat. Gornakov also noted that he had received medical treatment at a local hospital.
On August 29, it was reported that a bear attacked a man who was picking mushrooms in the Chuguevsky district of Primorye near the village of Shumny. It was clarified that the victim was able to get out of the forest on his own and was taken to the hospital by relatives.
