The Moscow International Book Fair at VDNH was attended by tens of thousands of guests and residents of the capital. This was reported on September 7 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

"Reading allows you to slow down this rhythm of life a little bit, and thus, it seems to me, you can slow down time, because I have a feeling that time has physically accelerated lately," says director Egor Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky.

Books on philosophy, yoga, dance and ancient practices -2,5 thousand editions were brought to Moscow from India. It was also possible to immerse yourself in the world of fairy tales with a national flavor in the genre of comics in the pavilion of Saudi Arabia. The guests were treated to Arabic coffee with cardamom and oriental sweets.

"We share a similar culture with Russia, namely, loyalty to traditions and family values. At this exhibition, we want to introduce Russian readers to the works of our writers," said Abdulatif bin Abdulaziz Alwaseel, Chief Executive Officer of the Commission on Literature under the Ministry of Culture of Saudi Arabia.

Vladimir Nemchinov, a visitor to the exhibition, shared that many of the copies presented at the exhibition do not reach the province, so he takes away about 20-30 kg of books while attending the event. Russian Russian classics were also collected by the guests of the capital from China, including "Eugene Onegin", "The Silver Age of Russian Poetry", "War and Peace", says Le Zian Xi, a guest of the exhibition.

The Moscow Book Fair is not only about shelves, shelving and ruins, but also about interpretations, discussions and meetings with contemporary authors. For example, actor Anton Shagin presented a collection of poems.

A special place is occupied by the works about the heroes of the special military operation (SVO). Their authors have been through the battlefields and received high awards. There is also an entire floor dedicated to books for children. Publications with three-dimensional pictures are in demand.

"Here are the veterans, how much do they talk about after the war? That's for sure, who has grandfathers, they usually don't talk about it. And so I thought I should write. You have to tell what you see, what you feel. It is very important to tell the story in a way that children can read," says Ilya Pavlov, a veteran writer and commander of the Grad battery.

The 38th Moscow International Book Fair is taking place in Pavilion No. 57 of VDNH from 3 to 7 September. The event is attended by over 300 publishers from Russia, Belarus, China, India and other countries. The guest of honor was India, which hosted over 50 events about technology, AI, yoga, Ayurveda and culture.
