Airborne artillery destroyed the AFU command post in Sumy region
Calculations of the Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) of the artillery division of the Tula airborne unit struck the positions of Ukrainian formations in the Sumy region, destroying a camouflaged command post. This was announced on September 7 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
According to the ministry, airborne units operate along the border of the Kursk region, creating a buffer zone and striking at enemy manpower and equipment. Targets are identified using drones that conduct reconnaissance and adjust artillery fire.
"During the reconnaissance by UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles. — Ed.), a command post of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.). Personnel, an ammunition depot, and a command post were destroyed with an accurate volley from the Grad MLRS," the Defense Ministry said.
Earlier, on September 6, the Russian Armed Forces eliminated an ammunition and materiel depot, as well as temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian military personnel and foreign mercenaries in 142 special operation areas. The defeat was inflicted with the help of tactical aviation and attack drones.
