Experts noted the growing demand for women in the oil and gas sector

In Russia, representatives of the oil and gas sector became 14% more likely to invite women to work or interviews in January-June 2025. The newspaper found out about this on September 7.Ru" during a conversation with the press service of the recruiting resource hh.ru on the occasion of the Oilman's Day.

At the same time, it is noted that two thirds of positions in the industry are still held by men. This is relevant for both working and managerial positions.

"In turn, the share of women in the industry has reached 27% among line staff and only 15% among management staff. Even in such a highly paid industry as Oil and Gas, women continue to dump, requesting salaries lower than men," the publication says.

The average expected salaries of women in the industry this year amounted to about 72 thousand rubles. At the same time, men request at least 116 thousand rubles for themselves. In senior positions, salaries are 110 thousand and at least 136 thousand, respectively.

In total, from January to August, Russian employers posted more than 170,000 vacancies in this field.

"The rating of the most sought-after professions in the oil and gas industry in 2025 is headed by electricians. For them, employers have placed more than 37 thousand vacancies in the field of oil and gas. Welders were in second place in terms of demand (10% or almost 18 thousand new jobs in the industry), and handymen were in third place (8% or 13.5 thousand vacancies)," the press service said.
